Transforming Learning Spaces at OS FLORA

Thanks to your generous support, we were able to complete a full makeover and upgrade of the media room at OS FLORA, including new computers, projector, and camera system. These improvements will help create an engaging, educational, and interactive environment for the children, providing them with better access to learning resources and creative opportunities. We’re thrilled to see the positive impact this will have on their development and learning experiences!

Project Hubert Stichting

As you may be aware, the Mr. Huber Foundation is dedicated to the welfare and supervision of children and young adults with multiple disabilities, among other initiatives. Currently, we provide care for 33 children with multiple disabilities and 24/7 young adults at our facility in Tamanredjo. Additionally, one pupil utilizes our day care services, while the remainder participate in the foundation’s day and week stay programs. The prevailing socio-economic conditions in our country present growing challenges for us as a social institution. Your involvement and support are invaluable to us as we navigate these challenges. Project Grietjebie School

We are thrilled to share a summary of the memorable “Project Grietjebie School” that recently took place. Our foundation, Stg Sudisfla, received a thank-you letter from the O.S. Grietjebieschool, detailing the heartwarming events that unfolded during this project. Throughout this period, the children of Grietjebie School had the joy of indulging in a special snack break, not only receiving a nutritious meal but also a box filled with valuable school supplies. The foundation generously contributed to this meal by providing necessary items. On November 25, 2023, dedicated teachers personally prepared the meal and celebrated the Srefidensi ceremony with the children. […]

Project Kennedy

In early 2023, the Kennedy School received a call from Mr. Belfor, who expressed a strong desire to support the school’s children alongside a group of Surinamese individuals in the U.S. Shortly thereafter, plans were put in place, and Mrs. Mildred Pika assumed the responsibility of developing and executing this project. The decision on what to offer the children was promptly made. The chosen date was in May, coinciding with Mother’s Day. On this day, the children and teachers were treated to a wholesome meal consisting of bread, a beverage, and a serving of yogurt. The children were pleasantly surprised […]

The entire event was musically accompanied by our music teacher, Mrs. Pamela Groenfelt, along with her ensemble and the pupils of Matoekoe. It was also a presentation showcasing the musical talents the pupils have acquired throughout the past school year. The day concluded with a delightful […]

Project O.S. Maretraite

Through the Sudisfla Foundation, representing Surinamese individuals in South Florida, and with the support of Mrs. Mildred Pika, the students of OS Maretraite had the delightful opportunity to savor a hearty burger and enjoy a refreshing drink, generously provided by RUTU. Our school caters to students with a diverse range of disabilities, including learning and behavioral challenges, autism, and children with Down Syndrome. Most of our students come from low-income households. Considering that most parents of our students can scarcely afford outings for their children, this experience was truly heartwarming for our students. These remarkable students are often overlooked, making […]
